Every once in a while I’ll look up from whatever it is I’m doing and suddenly remember that gay couples aren’t allowed to get married in this country. In these moments, I’m never angry or frustrated or even appalled. I’m just…bemused. It’s a surreal sensation and it always takes several seconds…
